Student Lockin

AHH the Student Lock In; I have been waiting for this one for a good few months now after I heard so much great stuff about last year! It is basically a night in which a shopping centre in a local town is open after ours, for students only, and everywhere is full of discounts and freebies. Starting at half 6 I tried to get down to B-Town for 6, and by then the queues were already stretched far down the side of the shopping mall. Once we had been given wristbands for entry we headed to Urban Outfitters where we got a free bottle of SOL, and I made my only purchases of the night (will put them in a separate post). There was a decent DJ and what could be better than alcohol, music and clothes right? Apart from the fact that I had never seen the place so busy, turns out this year Student Lock In was advertised a lot more/better than last year and I think the turnout was something like double the students from last year. Other freebies included a mojito from the mixology stand (apparently there is a new bar school/mixology school opening in B-Town) and Jack Daniels (with honey) ice cream. I love JD, but I really couldn’t decide whether the ice cream was for me, it was somewhat fizzy, very creamy though. After traipsing around numerous shops with queues that weaved all around the isles, we decided to leave. It had been two hours, we had got some free stuff, but there was barely any room to look for clothes (let alone shoes) there were lines of people trying to get to the changing rooms and trying to pay. I was gutted there was a queue to even get into H+M and I just never did *sadface*. Until next year.
