Video Games Are Better Than Girlfriends

With my Birthday and Christmas in December, I usually have some extra cash and gift cards floating around January time. I never usually shop in the January sales and a lot of my favourite items I have bought in the last month were at full price, but I thought I would share some of my favourites.

I had been looking for a new tube skirt as my basic one from H+M may be a little over worn; I was thrilled when I found this cute pleather skirt in New Look and for such a good price...and even better it fits lovely. I am having fun styling it at the moment and have worn it a lot on nights out the last couple of weeks. The top is from Primark, always good for some basics, I end up wandering around for ages and never buy anything but I went back for this piece. It is so cheap and loose fitting but I think it is still a rather flattering style and colour.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a sucker for Tartan and have been for years, so the last few months of this Tartan frenzy have been incredible, so many great pieces. I prefer traditional tartan colours instead of all these crazy ones that have been around while Tartan has been such a massive trend, but I noticed this shift dress and kind of fell in love. Because I am an hour glass figure I also thought there was a chance it wouldn't look great on but I love it and it is super comfy and easy to style.

This next jumper I picked up in H+M and it was so cheap and wasn't in the sale. H+M are amazing for basics and I was really in need of some new jumpers this winter as I wear so much black I needed a little colour. I didn't go too wild clearly, but I love the fit of this, it is so snug and great to wear with jeans or leggings or even with tights as a jumper dress.

This jumper is incredible, I have been wearing this as a dress just with tights and boots and a simple necklace. Like I said before, H+M are brilliant for basics and so cheap, and with a few of the right accessories those basic pieces can look stunning. In love with this teal colour as well.

I had to stop myself from buying several pairs of shoes this month. After breaking my Underground Creepers and finding this cheap pair of flatforms in Primark a few months back I have been on the hunt for some more shoes to go out in (I wore those creepers to death). Seeing as I have been living in my Vans during the day it is nice to wear something different when going to the pub or gigs. I am not usually one for patent either but this burgandy wine tone totally had me, and look at those tassels!

I have tried on maybe 20 pairs of black boots in the last month, I needed a new pair. I wore my DM's to death in December and my little suede ankle boots collapsed in the recent rain so I needed a sturdy new pair. After much deliberation I settled for these chunky Chelsea style boot from New Look. A little more expensive than I would usually buy from New Look but at the moment they are my favourite thing I own, I am basing everything I wear around these boots. I can't believe how comfy they are, there has only been 1 day since I bought them that I haven't worn them. Such a great buy.

Finally, I purchased this little green bag from New Look. It is a little unusual with how it opens and I was worried that would make it problematic for me to get my purse and things out but it is actual a lot more safer. And I love the bold colour so this one was a must (I will try so hard to get away from black this year).

I bought a lot more than I have let on in the last month and I need to be a lot better in future months and concentrate more on work than fashion trends. I can't help it, I like shoes too much.
