Devils Dyke

Sometimes when you don't feel so great or when life is just throwing too much at you all at once, it is best to take some time to do things that really make you happy. Yesterday I definitely did that.

The boyfriend and I packed a picnic and headed up to Devil's Dyke, both of us have lived in Brighton for several years and still neither of us had taken the time to go walk around and bask in the joyful views of Devil's Dyke. Yesterday was the perfect day for it too, it was warm, sunny and there was just enough breeze for me to occasionally get my hair blown into my face but to also keep us cool on our afternoon of walking.

We parked up and took a little stroll before we found some picnic benches. They were pretty unkempt, the grass was overgrown around them, but the views were so great and there was just the right amount of breeze, it was such a perfect spot for us to set up camp and have some lunch.

We walked for a few more miles after clearing up our lunch, taking time to soak in all of the nature and watch the farm animals we could see across the fields and the insects and bugs that were a lot closer. On our way back to the car we spotted an apple tree and wasted no time in picking a couple to take home with us: the apples were ripe and great to eat by themselves but I am definitely thinking about making an apple crumble with sultanas and cinnamon - thank you nature for the apples and a brilliant day out.
