Leave Me To Write...

So I drove to Southampton last night, I went to a gig at the Joiners (first time) but I had completely forgot that I had tickets to the show and started my new 1-5 job yesterday (i know, very strenuous) Anyway I had to rush back to mine, get changed, scoff my face before I could venture the what ended up being almost 2 hour journey. At first I really thought it was a wast of my time, I missed the first support act and the second act were so....strange...no I can't even say that, they were terrible 'Powdered Cow' I believe. My first instincts were 'these guys are second on the bill? They thought someone was worse than these and put these guys on 2nd?' Dissapointed, me and my boyfriend stood by the bar, assuming Lanterns on The Lake (the band we had gone to see) when we were greeted by the politest man with one of the most calming voices I have ever heard. His guitar skills and lyrics were mesmerizing, much more than a step up from the previous act (sorry guys) but the guy had left before we found out his name. I am determined to hunt him down, he said he had an ep on Spotify and that he usually plays with a band, which is awesome, but what was his name?! ahhh. Lanterns on the Lake were really good though, they didn't come on until half 10 which is pretty late for a headline act in any standard. They were at best when they were just instrumental, I find their lyrics rather dull, often about boats and the sea and there always being some kind of spark, none the less the set was beautiful. It was a long ride home with the boyfriend falling asleep in the car I was left with the late night punk show on Radio 1 to keep me going, it succeeded. Of course I fell straight to sleep as soon as I got in and then back to work today. I am an idiot and didn't take my camera, I would have loved some shots of the guys playing last night, next time.

I love finding a new site or shop that does cute clothing at decent prices (and with a student discount! woo) Fashion Union is my new 'check every day' site (I am a sucker for clothes when I know I shouldn't be spending much). The site is easy to get around and they have a large array of some real pretty pieces that are perfect for the summer. I have picked out a few and put them on a little wishlist but that may be where they stay...BE IN MY WARDROBE! *sigh*

They have so much stuff on offer for just £10, i suggest you take a look, plus the international delivery is cheap too! Worth it.

The title is a line from the song 'A Kingdom - Lanterns on The Lake'
