Just a few snaps from my New Years Eve celebrations.
Where are my manners?! Happy New Year (belated?) and I hope everyone had a great holiday and is back into the swing of average joe life. I have some seriously delayed posts coming up in the next week; this last week and a half has been so hectic, I couldn't have planned for all of this to happen in such a short period of time.
As far as New Years go I tend to stay away from 'Resolutions', it gets too deep and depressing and I don't want to think to much about how I am far from perfect. No, instead I feel a few goals to strive for or things to keep on top of are in order. I am a lover of lists so I will make one and perhaps come back to it later in the year and see how I am doing.
- So first on my list I want to get back into photography. I have always been 'into' it but I feel in the last year I have been writing a lot more and not actively going out to take and make photographs, even though I did purchase two cameras last year. I did myself another camera with some birthday money but I think that my photography adoration deserves its own post.
- I want to keep on making playlists. This might sound vaguely lame, I used to buy a lot more physical CD's than I do now (due to being a student and storage etc) I will definitely get back into that in the future but the past few months I have been making monthly/bimonthly playlists. Every now and then I go back and look at what music I was listening to in certain months and sometimes I forget songs that I was totally obsessed with. It is another great way of storing memories.
- Keep writing. I know I have been, I hesitate to say 'good', but certainly better than past years the last few months and I do completely intend to keep up with posting as regularly as possible. I want this blog to be filled with ramblings and opinion pieces and some boring things that will make me proud.
- Something I haven't actually mentioned on here is my 'Happiness Jar', or at least that is what I call it. It was an idea that I took from a video I found last year that was about a girl who put note-lets into a jar of little messages people had said or events etc that had made her happy. After having an odd 2012 and one of the worst New Years of my life I needed a project to gage some good vibes and for a few months it really did work. I promised myself I wouldn't read anything I put in the jar until 31 December 2013 (which I stuck by). At certain points of the year I felt down looking at the lack of things that I had actually put in the jar and eventually gave up, but reading some of the notes in the jar in December made me smile, so now I vowel to you all that I will stick to my guns this year and stick it out.
- This year is technically a real big one for me, I hope to graduate university with a 2.1 BA HONS in English Language and Media Studies. I will be moving out of Btown and back home to Essex in June. I hope to have a job by the end of the year and be planning to move out of my parents house.
I have a lot going this year and fingers crossed I can keep my head above water all the way through. I hope everyone that reads these posts takes something from them this year; whether it be entertainment, advice or information. Good Luck to everyone and here goes 2014.
